A discussion at the Documentation Center for National Socialism will focus on the Nelson family from Freiburg. During the Nazi era, the family was persecuted for being Jewish. Siegfried and Marie Nelson were murdered, their son Gerhard survived the Auschwitz concentration camp and returned to Freiburg after 1945. Caroline Klemm, research associate at the DZNS, talks to the descendant Joachim S. Nelson and Dorothea Scherle from the Jewish Museum Emmendingen about the history of the family and the research into their biographies. Admission is free of charge. The number of participants is limited. It is necessary to book a free event ticket in the online store.
