Freiburg Blues Festival
The Freiburg Blues Festival is an annual event that brings together national and international artists from the fields of blues, soul, rock and related musical genres. The Freiburg Blues Festival offers visitors a diverse musical program featuring national and international artists from the blues, rhythm & blues, soul, and related genres. The festival kicks off with a free concert evening at the Markthalle (market hall) featuring the No Sugar Mamas, who will create a lively festival atmosphere with their infectious grooves, powerful voices, and plenty of girl power.
Highlights include the German Blues Challenge 2026, in which four of Germany’s best blues bands will compete against each other, as well as a performance by Jörg Danielsen & Fabulous Vienna Blues Association, who blend traditional Chicago blues with Viennese charm.
On Sunday, the “Sunday Morning Blues” concert featuring Jon Shain & Mike Bischof will provide a live musical morning get-together. Other festival highlights include the double concerts by JW-Jones and Andrew Duncanson & Take a Ride feat. Michael Peloquin, as well as by Elise Frank and Tad Robinson.
The concerts will take place at various venues in Freiburg, including the Markthalle (market hall), the Wodan Halle, and the Gasthaus Schützen, all of which will create an immersive festival atmosphere.
