Freiburg becomes the epicenter of Krautrock: with the first Freiburg Krautrock Festival, the city celebrates one of the most influential and experimental movements in German music history. On an evening full of hypnotic grooves, psychedelic soundscapes and improvisational energy, the pioneering spirit meets the present.
The legendary bands BIRTH CONTROL, GURU GURU, EMBRYO and DREAM CONTROL will bring Krautrock back to life in the "Haus der Jugend".
Krautrock emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s as a radical musical movement beyond Anglo-American rock traditions. Bands experimented with electronic sounds, repetitive rhythms and long, trance-like improvisations - creating a sound that continues to influence artists worldwide to this day.
The Freiburg Krautrock Festival brings this special atmosphere live to the stage. The audience can expect a journey through cosmic synthesizer sounds, motoric beats and psychedelic guitars - from driving jam sessions to atmospheric sound experiments.
