What is described happened everywhere in Germany. It is the story of an entire generation between 1933 and 1939, who experienced the countdown to a war they could not have imagined. The starting point for this previously unknown look into the "inner life" of the Third Reich was a brochure from the Hitler Youth in Freiburg from 1938, which was believed to be lost, which a Kaiserstuhl schoolboy found in his grandmother's attic and gave to us with the comment. It was indeed fascinating for young people what the Freiburg leadership of the Hitler Youth had prepared for 1,400 young people in July 1938: a ten-day "large-scale off-road game" as a feud between the Freiburg HJ (Bann 113) and the Bann Baden-Baden (Bann 111) in the Feldberg area of the southern Black Forest. The large number of young people between the ages of 14 and 18 who took part shows that a terrible seed was sown here, which each individual participant and their family later had to atone for, whether in the form of death, war injuries, captivity or terrible, lasting memories. But it also takes a look at the educators of this seduced youth. Did they know what they were doing? - Registration required.
