Rising Star Emma Rawicz at the Freiburg Jazz Festival - THU, SEPT 24 at 8 p.m., FORUM Merzhausen

At just 24 years old and already a multiple award winner, she is unquestionably one of the most promising talents in European jazz. She is considered “one of Europe’s most exciting young saxophonists.” This rising star of the British jazz scene—which is truly rich in talent—was recently honored with the 2026 Jazz FM Award for UK Jazz Act of the Year. In 2022, she performed as a soloist with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the London Jazz Festival.
Her musical career already spans the entire continent. She has performed in over 15 countries and is currently on tour with various projects, ranging from her quartet to … the 20-piece jazz orchestra she leads and for which she composes. This coming October, she will conduct the renowned HR Big Band of Hessischer Rundfunk at the German Jazz Festival in Frankfurt am Main.
At the FORUM Merzhausen, the young British artist will present her new album *INKYRA*, released on the renowned German ACT label.

After 100 captivating minutes, there’s therefore nothing left to do at the end of the evening but count down the days until Rawicz returns to the area for a concert as part of the Leverkusen Jazz Days (in November) and for a performance at the Essen Philharmonie (next February).
