The E-WERK FREIBURG e.V. association presents an extensive cultural program in the areas of dance, theater, music and art. E-WERK is home to 30 artists, the bewegungs-art school of dance, the Freiburg drama school and KIEW chamber theater and the "Die Schönen der Nacht" musical theater.
The E-Werk Freiburg is one of the city’s leading cultural centers, bringing together the performing arts, music, dance, performance art, contemporary art, and cultural education programs under one roof. As a platform for the independent cultural scene, the venue offers a diverse program of theater performances, concerts, exhibitions, festivals, workshops, and interdisciplinary projects.
In addition to its event rooms, the E-Werk hosts artists from various disciplines, providing studio and rehearsal spaces, residency programs, and facilities for cultural education. Programs for children, teenagers, and school groups are also an integral part of the lineup.
The Gallery for Contemporary Art regularly presents international and regional works of contemporary art. The cultural offerings are complemented by festivals and collaborations that make the center a vibrant hub for art, culture, and social exchange.
The cultural center is located in the Stühlinger district near downtown Freiburg and is easily accessible by bicycle and public transportation. A limited number of parking spaces are also available for visitors. The building is largely accessible to people with disabilities.
