Eschholzpark Freiburg

The park consists of extensive lawns and a circular pergola with shrub beds and benches. It is framed by an avenue of 190 chestnut trees.

One central feature is Claes Oldenburg’s New York artwork. This huge eight-meter garden hose is an allusion to the site's former use as allotments. This work cost DM 400,000 at the time and was financed by the Berufsschulzentrum (vocational training center) through the "Kunst am Bau" initiative.

Generous lawns and a small children's playground at the edge of the park and regular events make the park a popular location among both locals and visitors.
