Facing the future

Two orchestras from the Freiburg music scene meet - both work with the same instruments, but could hardly be more different in their musical orientation. Ensemble Recherche and the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra come together in this concert for a special encounter. What happens when a chamber ensemble of nine musicians meets a symphony orchestra of around 70 musicians? Does an imbalance arise - or a field of tension in which the special qualities of both formations inspire each other?
