“Dièze” is reminiscent of the French musical symbol # (dièse), but also of “jazz” when you say it out loud. And that’s exactly what it’s all about: swing and jazz with a French touch. The music is inspired by Gypsy jazz, which originated in France, but stylistically covers a broader range: in addition to Gypsy and swing, the repertoire includes, for example, rock ’n’ roll, bossa nova, chansons, and musette waltzes. Mariame Chakly sings in all languages and genres and captivates every audience.
