BlueFunk presents Donata Chiari - Bologna

In April 2024, the paths of Donata Chiari - musician and environmental scientist from Bologna - and Rainer Trendelenburg, the creative mind behind BlueFunk, crossed on stage for the first time. The venue for this encounter was a "New Constellation Kitchen" session organized by the Freiburg Blues Association e.V. in the atmospheric vaulted cellar of the Hotel Schiff in Freiburg.

What began there was more than just a joint performance: the idea of a new BlueFunk production was already palpable in the air that evening. In Donata, the project gained an exceptional lyricist and singer who combines musical depth with sensitivity in terms of content.

Just a few days later, pre-production began at Lemontree Studio in Freiburg. It was clear from the outset that this album would consist exclusively of first releases - as a musical journey between blues, jazz and funk, carried by the joy of playing, a love of experimentation and a shared vision.

The fantastic voice of Donata Chiari is at the heart of the production.
