The Blue Light Day Freiburg has already attracted huge crowds and lots of wide-eyed children four times. Now it's time for the fourth edition: On Saturday, June 13, the volunteer fire department (Department 07 Wiehre) invites you to this year's Blue Light Day from 10 am to 8 pm. It will take place in and in front of the fire station at Urachstraße 5 and offers an attractive program for the whole family.
"Blue Light Day is a great event and well worth a visit. It's hard to imagine a better setting for our blue light organizations, which use this day to provide information about their important work, raise public awareness of volunteering and also recruit new members," emphasizes Lord Mayor Martin Horn, who has opened the event in the past.
As in previous years, almost the entire squad of blue light organizations will be at the start: volunteer fire department, Malteser emergency services, state police, technical relief organization (THW), Black Forest mountain rescue service, Malteser rescue dog squadron, rescue divers "Penguins", German Life Saving Association (DLRG), customs, prison service, Johanniter, Region der Lebensretter e.V., First Aid For All (FAFA), Federal Police, Freiburg / Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald Emergency Pastoral Care and Freiburg University Hospital Blood Donation.
In addition to information stands, there will be exciting demonstration exercises. Visitors can also take part in a first aid workshop on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and fire extinguisher training. The varied children's program includes a fire department bouncy castle, an interactive station quiz and mini-games at the stands as well as children's rides in the fire engine!
The physical well-being is well catered for. In addition to barbecue products from the self-built barbecue container of fire brigade department 07, there will be chili sin carne, crêpes, ice cream, coffee and homemade cakes, all from local suppliers and producers.
Visitors can look forward to an eventful day full of commitment, information and action. Further information can be found at www.blaulichttag-freiburg.de or on social media at @blaulichttag.
