The concert is on May 6, 2026 20h in the historical merchants' hall with Robert Neumann.
In favor of "Doctors without Borders".
The program:
Chopin - the complete Etudes
14 etudes from op.10, op.25 and op.posth.
Intermission
13 etudes from op.10, op.25 and op.posth.
Although Chopin's two large collections of etudes were intended at the time as studies and possibly for concert use, they did not claim to be reproduced in their entirety, let alone in exact sequence. Only the publishers soon summarized his etudes in several operas.
For a complete presentation of the Etudes oeuvre, Robert Neumann has approached the practice of flexible usability by recombining the individual miniatures and combining them into two independent acts. In this way, new dramaturgical developments emerge, which shed new light on some of the etudes and their characters.
As a winner and prizewinner of numerous national and international competitions - most recently 1st prize at NYCA (New York Concert Artists) 2023, the Gold Award at the NTD International Piano Competition 2024 in New York and winning the German Music Competition 2025 and the German Pianist Award 2025 - Robert Neumann was honored with the International Classical Music Discovery Award and named OPUS KLASSIK Young Artist.
Two solo albums have been released by SWRmusic/Naxos and a portrait, a studio concert and individual singles by Deutsche Grammophon.
The young pianist made his orchestral debut with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra at the age of eight.
In 2024, he founded the Cannstatter Klavierfrühling, which presents international pianists of the new generation under his direction.
Robert's compositions have recently been premiered by Julia Fischer, Benjamin Nyffenegger and Alexey Stadler, among others.
Robert grew up trilingual in a family of musicians. He received lessons from Monika Giurgiuman and Elza Kolodin. He is currently studying for his concert exam with Eldar Nebolsin in Berlin.
