On the trail of the wart-biter

The wart-biter is grasshopper of the year 2026!

Why is it called that and where can it be found? Will it still be hopping across our path today? Families with kids who like to hike can solve these and many other exciting questions on a 3 km circular hike in the nature reserve on the Schauinsland (only in dry weather).

Please bring a hiking rucksack with water, snacks, sun protection and sturdy shoes. We walk on alpine paths, surefootedness required.

The meeting point is the mountain station of the Schauinsland cable car. It's worth taking the gondola up and down! We recommend a family ticket: shop.schauinslandbahn.de/article/22
