Aspects of freedom in the music of the 20th century (music lecture)

Experiences of social oppression, political deprivation of freedom and the curtailment of freedom of thought and belief run through history. The music of the 20th century was dedicated to the longing for freedom in many different ways. Seven particularly impressive works that shed light on various aspects of freedom will be presented in this lecture with images and musical examples and explained in their context.
