Resilience and Creativity: How We Can Cope with the Multiple Crises of Our Time.
The current global crises and their impact on us can quickly lead to despair. As a result, we often choose to ignore them in our own lives. Both of these responses prevent us from finding an appropriate way to respond that empowers us to take action.
“The Work That Reconnects” by Joanna Macy and others is a very simple and effective method for addressing the potential overwhelm caused by the current global situation with resilience and creative power. This method has been used by many people since the late 1970s and can be easily practiced in groups of various sizes or even alone. There is a global network of people who continue Joanna Macy’s work.
Together, we will learn the basics of this work and experience it firsthand. In doing so, we will, among other things, mindfully make space for our feelings and work with imagination, which can lead to concrete steps for daily life or the future for each participant.
