From the nuns' crypt to paradise (guided tour)

In cooperation with VISTAtour and ARGE Freiburger Stadtbild - The tour begins in the deep cellars of the adult education center, which once belonged to the "Black Convent": under large vaults there are not only tombs of the convent's inhabitants, but also a collection of the most important gravestone originals of the old cemetery. From there, the tour continues to the site of the vanished "Paradise" district. You will find out why a strange triangle of streets still poses a mystery today and hear stories of slaughterhouses, bathhouses and the former Paradise Mill. At the industrial stream in the medieval Schneckenvorstadt, you will encounter the life and work of earlier centuries and the rules of the Runzgenossenschaft that still apply today. - Registration required.
