From Galgeneck to Südbahnhof (guided tour)

The tour takes you from the former Freiburg execution site through an area with a little-known history to the former southern station of the freight line. Along the way, you will discover forgotten relics and traces of earlier buildings. The former village of Haslach, significantly older than the city of Freiburg, surprises with exciting neighborhoods, large workers' housing estates, an industrial area and hidden paths. The idyllic garden city and its development are just as much a topic as the concept of Volkswohnungen developed by the Nazis. They are less well known than the Volksempfänger and Volkswagen, but were intended to promote the rootedness in blood and soil desired by those in power.
