Vernissage - Asta Kunstek-Virtanen

The Goethe-Institut Freiburg is opening a new exhibition by the artist Asta Kunstek-Virtanen on November 3, 2025. Her works in acrylic and mixed media focus on strong contrasts, rhythmic structures and an immediate visual language. There are no titles - instead, the pictures invite you to go on a journey of discovery yourself.

Asta Kunstek-Virtanen began painting in 2010 - triggered by a few hours of art therapy that awakened her creative passion. Since then, she has exhibited her work regularly, so far in more than 20 group and 13 solo exhibitions at home and abroad. Born in Finland, she has lived in Germany for over 50 years and in Freiburg since 2013.

The vernissage will take place on Monday, November 03, 2025, at 19:00 in the foyer of the Goethe-Institut Freiburg. Theo Hofsäss will give the laudatory speech, the evening will be accompanied by the Finnish pianist Maija Massinen. Afterwards, the Goethe-Institut invites you to a convivial evening with wine and canapés.
