Many people dream of a round trip through California. But the state is huge and offers so much to see that one trip alone is hardly enough. The speaker has been there several times and has visited some of the famous national parks. In this lecture, he presents them from south to north: Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Sequoia and Kings Canyon and, of course, Yosemite. From the bizarre yucca trees in the desert on the border with Mexico, the journey continues high up into the Sierra Nevada to the sequoia trees. These images of nature are complemented by impressions of the major centers of Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Pacific coast and the area of the great gold rush of 1849. Coffee and cake will be offered during the break (included in the course fee).
