After walking through a "wool feeling line" together, the participants discover all the necessary equipment for raw wool preparation. We then get straight down to work and spin our own yarn together in a seated group. You will learn important basic knowledge such as S-Z spinning directions, twist ratios/twist angles, supported spinning, Andean twisting/2ply and reeling. These questions will also be answered: What can be made from which fiber if, for example, it is to be a pair of socks, a sweater, or macramé?
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to work independently on a hand spindle and take a small piece of your own yarn home with you and expand your knowledge with the help of further information in the form of literature and videos.
The hand spindle (on loan!) and ready-made wool fibers will be provided.
