Simin Tander - "The Wind"

Following her second great solo album Where Water Travels Home (Jazzhaus Records) and her internationally acclaimed collaboration with Norwegian pianist Tord Gustavsen on the ECM album What Was Said (German Record Critics' Award of the Year), German-Afghan singer Simin Tander has opened a new door in her artistic career. Unfading is the title of her new work, which she recorded with a newly formed and unusual quartet. On it, the artist effortlessly interweaves the creative, feminine flow of grounded songwriting with echoes of the archaic, combining the power of songs full of emotional depth with passages of improvisational freedom.
