Silvaner: Old grape variety - still in top form (wine seminar)
Silvaner was the most important German grape variety in the 19th century and was only replaced by Müller-Thurgau in the 1970s. Today, 4,400 hectares are still planted with Silvaner. Silvaner is most important in Franconia, where it has become the leading variety for the entire wine-growing region. Here it has the ideal conditions to exploit its potential and produce special wines. In numerous varieties, from fresh-fruity, light to fully ripe types with a powerful body, it is considered an insider tip among experts. The wine seminar presents wines from different regions to demonstrate the potential of the Silvaner. Material costs of €28 are included in the course fee.
