Poetry Slam — Hosted by Ansgar Hufnagel

Poetry Slam—The Art of Words Live on Stage

The audience listens spellbound as words become images and punchlines strike right at the heart. Sometimes loud, sometimes soft, sometimes profound or hilarious—at a poetry slam, almost anything is possible!

Whether it’s rhyming verses, spontaneous anecdotes, political statements, or philosophical musings—the stage belongs to the poets and their original works. They have seven minutes to win over the audience. No props, but plenty of emotion, creativity, and wit.

Host Ansgar Hufnagel invites wordsmiths from Freiburg, the surrounding region, and the German-speaking world—and the audience decides who takes home the victory.

Seven minutes, no props, maximum concentration: rhyming pieces, spontaneous anecdotes, political statements, and philosophical thought experiments take turns on stage.

Host Ansgar Hufnagel guides the evening, and the audience decides who wins and who gets the applause.

A lively, surprising evening full of language, excitement, and fun—ideal for anyone who wants to experience the power of words.
