Are you interested in Scandinavia, its culture, people and languages? Then learn Norwegian! The course has three main objectives: 1. to be able to hold simple conversations in Norwegian, and: 2. to gain a general understanding of Norwegian culture and language. 3. To gain a brief introduction to the world of Nordic literature and legends. By the end of the course you will have learned about these three areas! We will mainly focus on Bokmål, the more commonly used of Norway's two official written languages. But also parts of the second written language, Nynorsk, and the dialects will be presented, as these play a very important role in the lives of Norwegians and in public. Further information is available here. The course does not require any previous knowledge of Norwegian. However, it is recommended that you have a basic understanding of the language and a general enthusiasm for learning Norwegian. Perhaps as preparation for a trip? Off to the land of mountains, fjords and lakes!
