MUNDOLOGIA seminar: Image processing with AI
Put to the test: Artificial intelligence in image processing
The recent development of artificial intelligence is a controversial topic among photographers, and some fail to recognize the value of many functions for image organization and image development that already use AI, despite the justified criticism of artificially generated, soulless images. In this lecture-seminar, Maike Jarsetz will shed light on the influence of current AI techniques on everyday tasks such as image selection, subject development, cropping and retouching and show the AI-based functions in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop that we can already benefit from on a daily basis.
New techniques compete with time-consuming manual editing. But is AI the quick solution to every problem? How important is it to know the essential basics of image editing to ensure good results? The controllability of AI techniques is put to the test here, as are the quality and time required for manual and automatic retouching results.
Far removed from arbitrary AI image generation, we therefore take a close look at functions whose tasks would require much more effort using traditional techniques without artificial intelligence. At the same time, there is room for critical consideration, as an AI function is not the best choice for every task.
In the course of the lecture seminar, we will examine the entire photographic workflow and discover the really useful AI functions in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, which can also be of great benefit for real photography.
