In Moving Rhythms, we make music with our bodies. Starting from movement, we integrate sounds that we create with our bodies. We explore the connection between acoustic and visual sounds. Movement becomes audible, sound becomes visible. We work on coordination, permeability and musicality. We invent and learn rhythms and play in an ensemble, in several voices or in canon. We experience volume, speed, tempo changes, repetition, simultaneity, superimposition, layering, tension, pauses and interplay. We also explore the scenic potential of rhythm: How can rhythm be used to communicate, create a mood or convey content? Through the possibilities of physical theater, poetry and comedy go hand in hand. What is needed? A desire for rhythm and movement, as well as the courage to engage with coordinative complexity. We practise relaxing in the challenge and getting into the groove together. Krause, Eva. Eva Krause studied dance at the TIP in Freiburg (DE), rhythm / djembé in Guinea (Conakry) and physical theater at the Accademia Dimitri (CH). Since then she has been working as a freelance actress and dancer in Fribourg. In September 2024 she debuted with her solo piece interr_options. The piece is part of her artistic focus Moving Rhythms, in which she works at the interface of body percussion and dance. Basically, she believes that presence matters and is a strong-willed advocate of instantaneous art. Find out more at evakrause.com
