A "grand jeté" is one of the most difficult and beautiful movements in ballet. Like a flying splits, both legs float perfectly extended through the air for a brief moment. It takes an incredible amount of strength from the dancers. And those who jump end up landing on the floor again. Fortunately, every ending is also a new beginning. Choreographer Silvia Gribaudi transfers the "grand jeté" to life in a very practical way. She celebrates the courage to leap into the unknown - no matter how elegant or clumsy we are. The dance piece takes the strict rules of classical ballet apart with a great deal of humor. The eleven dancers from the MM Contemporary Dance Company from Italy, under the direction of Michele Merola, free their bodies and movements from these rules. And in the end, they also free themselves. No more expectations, no more fixed roles! Are you ready for your very own "grand jeté"?
