Gospel concert Preacherman's Friends

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Mannheim gospel choir "Preacherman's Friends" is going on a concert tour to the Black Forest from May 1 to 3, 2026. Around 30 singers will be on stage under the direction of their founder Stefan Groß - accompanied by a professional band. Stops on the tour include Hinterzarten and Freiburg.

The highlight of the anniversary tour is the concert on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 7.30 pm in the Protestant church in Hinterzarten. Admission is free, donations are requested. The concert is supported by Hochschwarzwald Tourismus GmbH.

The popular gospel choir has long since ceased to be an insider tip in its home region. For three decades, "Preacherman's Friends" has stood for a rousing mixture of traditional and modern gospel songs. Classic songs meet contemporary arrangements; stylistically, the spectrum ranges from soul, jazz and swing to rock and pop to groovy songs with hip-hop elements. Sometimes quiet and soulful, sometimes powerful and full of energy - the concerts are characterized by sophisticated choral movements, emotional solos and a lively stage presence.

What sets the choir apart is its authenticity: the palpable joy of making music together, high musical quality and the ability to engage the audience from the very first minute. When gospel music is performed in this way, goosebumps are guaranteed - and the church becomes a sound space full of rhythm, emotion and joie de vivre.
