How writers write about Christmas
The Freiburg Catholic Academy invites you to a special literary-theological evening: The guest in the "Theological Soirée for Advent" is the emeritus Würzburg pastoral theologian Erich Garhammer on Monday, December 8 at 7 p.m. in the Archbishop's Seminary Collegium Borromaeum, Schoferstraße 1, Freiburg, and online.
When the priest and writer Kurt Marti was once asked by a newspaper to contribute an unpublished story for the Christmas edition, he declined: he couldn't think of anything for Christmas, there was an inflation of (bad) Christmas texts, and the festival was being given a priority that it didn't have over Easter and Pentecost. But there are literary successes for Christmas - and one of the most beautiful texts comes from Marti himself: "jesus came born mortal like me: brother you in a world without brothers"
