As soon as the 20 or so musicians of the Funky Marching Band fire off their explosive sound mix of New Orleans jazz and wild funk, spiced up with powerful vocals, not a foot remains still. And what would a birthday be without a party? Let's celebrate together.
Whether in the open air as a street band on streets and squares, in concert halls, theaters or on small stages, amplified or completely pure, this music hits the ear directly and remains irresistibly in the head - earworm danger guaranteed.
Bandleader, composer and arranger Jörgen Welander from Sweden provides unmistakable grooves with his creative pen. Inspired by bands such as Dirty Dozen BB (USA), Mardi Gras BB (D) or FunkOff (I), he mixes a unique sound that is tailor-made for this band.
The classic brass line-up with trumpet, trombone, sousaphone, snare and bass drum gets a funky upgrade with the Funky Marching Band: saxophones, electric guitar, percussion and vocals provide an incomparably fat sound experience.
And if you haven't had enough after the concert - don't worry! DJ Charlie Fonk will be spinning the turntables afterwards and heating up the groove once again. So put on your dancing shoes and let's go.
