FABRIK is a self-governing association that brings together various businesses and organizations under one roof, including workshops and the front building, which serves as a cultural space featuring cabaret, a cappella music, and children's programming.
FABRIK in Freiburg-Herdern is an association that brings together various organizations and businesses. Production, education, and social, environmental, and political groups work side by side here; its slogan is “FABRIK is a FABRIK—it’s not a factory.” The association has been self-governed for over 30 years.
Among the businesses are the ceramics workshop, the independent woodworking shop, and the bicycle repair shop. The Vorderhaus, the cultural center of the FABRIK, is known even beyond the region for its focus on cabaret, a cappella music, and children’s culture. The Vorderhaus is also home to the Piqueo restaurant.
