Elements of Floyd
From the sound cosmos of Pink Floyd, the eight-piece Basel-based ensemble
enchants us with sublime soundscapes, cutting rhythms and fragile vocal passages.
"Think big" - that is the motto of Elements of Floyd. How else could one do justice to the gigantic sound cosmos of Pink Floyd? Founded six years ago, the eight-piece ensemble from the Basel region has played its way into the premier league of Swiss tribute bands. Sublime soundscapes, cutting rhythms and fragile vocal passages provide
goosebump moments, faithful sound effects and synchronized video projections (a round screen in the style of the "Pulse" tour) take the audience on a journey with the perfect Floyd feeling - sometimes powerful, sometimes vulnerable, often magical, and always close to the original.
The current program is dedicated to the legendary album "Wish you were here", which was released 50 years ago, with the rarely performed "Shine on you crazy Diamond p. 6-9" being a particular highlight for Floydians. In addition, iconic numbers from the albums "Dark Side of the Moon", "The Wall", "Animals", "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" and "The Division Bell" bear witness to the band's stylistic range.
