Documentation Center National Socialism
The Documentation Center for National Socialism in Freiburg presents local history from 1918 to the present day on three levels. Interactive exhibitions, a former air raid shelter and biographies of contemporary witnesses provide insights into how Freiburg dealt with the Nazi era.
The Documentation Center for National Socialism Freiburg illuminates the history of the city between 1918 and today on three levels. The focus is on the period of National Socialism and its effects up to the present day. Four chronologically designed "time rooms" show events, biographies and developments with the help of historical objects, digital media, interactive stations and a former air raid shelter. Colored steles highlight the scope for action of individuals and groups. A memorial room commemorates those persecuted and victims of the regime. The exhibition invites visitors to ask questions, think ahead and reflect on how we deal with history. Digital offerings and audio tours complement the educational concept.
