Äl Jawala - Children's concert
"WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE A CONCERT FOR CHILDREN?" was written in large, colorful letters in a letter that the Jawalas found in their mailbox some time ago. 10 years ago, they didn't hesitate for long and gave the first Äl Jawala children's concert in their home town of Freiburg. In the meantime,
their annual children's concerts have become legendary and extremely popular with their young fans, who are delighted to have the opportunity to experience a real concert.
The children's concerts are a little more compact (50-60 minutes) and quieter than a "normal" Äl Jawala concert - but the dancing, jumping and singing along is just as passionate as in the evening!
Äl Jawala radiate pure positive energy through their joy of playing on stage, which is simply infectious. Saxophones, drums and percussion are the cornerstones of the Jawala sound - enhanced by voice, synthesizer and didgerdoo. The four Jawalas have collected images and stories worldwide in twenty-two years "on-the-road". In the early years as street musicians, later on the stages of clubs and festivals.
With open ears and hearts and an insatiable hunger for new musical territory, "Die Wanderden" have been on the road ever since, constantly reinventing themselves. (Äl Jawala means "The Wanderers" in Arabic)
