Don’t miss a visit to one of the most beautiful and oldest beer gardens in Southern Baden. The Kastaniengarten (“Chestnut Garden”) Freiburg is an especially popular meeting place in the summer. Here locals, students, and tourists can stop to enjoy the sunset with a freshly tapped beer – after all, the Kastaniengarten at Greifenegg Schlössle is known as a hot spot for sunset photos. But a visit during the day is also well worth a visit. With pretzels, tarte flambée, or a hearty veal sausage breakfast, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Old Town as far as the Rhine plain.
